Well we have a C-matic GS, 4speed and 5 speed in the fleet but the 5speed is not a driver at the moment....

I'm biased but I think the c-matic is the "nicer" car to drive...

Those that have driven BOTH 4 / 5 speed and C-matic CX's are faced with the same comparison and the few I have spoken to also agree the c-matic suits the car and it's high revving nature....

You rarely take off in 1st... and thrid is a nice wide gear so much so that you could drive around most streets and do so in 3rd... I spend most of my time between 2nd and 3rd...

The c-maitc makes the car easier to get decent economy out of but also alows you to give it a great old fang when you feel like it... and one less gear change when shifting through the gears makes it quicker as well as less thirsty in my experience...although it is a little slower off the mark... but not by much... and you dont get the clutch slip of a manual... remember...

Lets remember that the C-matic is really only a manual gearbox with an elxtro valve and torque converter NOT a tradtional auto with bands, cluthches and valve bodies and th einehrent ineficincies that go with them...
