    Default Creaky C4

My C4 has the panoramic glass roof, which is, I must say, worth every cent. The only problem I have with it is if I park the car in the sun for about twenty minutes on a day warmer than 30 degrees the roof creaks as I drive over road imperfections. I believe it is down to the glass and adjacent metal expanding at different rates. Has anyone else had this problem? In such a quiet car it is very annoying.

Interestingly, park the car longer than about an hour and it doesn't creak. I suspect that the metal and the glass have "warmed through" and done all the expanding they are going to do.

I would be keeping an eye on it - one of the road test cars (SMH?) cracked its glass roof for no apparent reason.

We have a C3 Panoramique. Sunroof front section and fixed rear glass panel. It has been wuite warm here in Qld. but have not noticed any creaking from either the moving or fixed panels.
I assume that the large fixed glass panel is expanding at a different rate to its surrounding materials. Perhaps the glass section is slightly out of alignment and rubbing as it expands. Worth making sure it is recorded in your cars records at the dealer just in case something untoward happens.

    Kind regards,

I've had a VTS with panoramic roof for 6 months now and I haven't noticed this. I do get a door rattle intermittently from the passenger side which is a bit annoying. Otherwise no other creaks.
