    Default Fuel for the C2

The little frenchie is due for a re-fuel tomorrow and my question is as follows

    • is there any point in using premium unleaded in the Citroen
    • It states to use unleaded;which is obvious

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, not the old fuel debate can of worms...........

Seriously though, give it a go and see what you think. Being a Euro engine it should appreciate PULP or 98. Don't bother with 100 RON though. Look/search in the Froggy Chat area for MUCH more information.

    Default Fuel to use

    Hello Dan;

I think that the user manual specifies a minimum of 95 RON - so that would rule out the standard unleaded fuel that is supplied by most outlets.

I tend to run mine on either BP ultimate or Mobil 8000 - and have found a bit of a difference in fuel economy when I use these 98 RON fuels as opposed to 95 RON fuel.

Either way, it should run well on either 95 or 98 RON fuel. And I certainly would not bother with the 100 RON stuff.

my C4 runs slightly better on bp ultimate but chews it up in huge lumps --- i only get about 390 - 430kms on a full tank!!

On optimax, i get the best economy with almost as good performance as ultimate --- about 490 - 550kms per tank

never tried vortex or mobil.....vortex label looks like a joke and ive heard bad things about mobil

See the Shell 100RON fuel discussion in the Renault Forum.

Our C3 is running well on 95 RON (PULP) at present. Car has only done 650 KM.

It has been suggested, on the 100 RON discussion, that I should be using 98 RON. I am not getting any indications of that need from the car, but will monitor the situation.

I always use major fuel company sites, but this is a personal preference. I would prefer not to use any fuel with ethanol added, but again this is personal preference.

    Kind regards,
    C3PO.

I run my pug on Vortex (my lease company gives me a Caltex card), and it's very happy - apart from not understanding the statement, who cares what the label looks like? It's fuel.
