    Default Original Citroen DS

    Hi

Just how good is this book? Do the Design Icon (Bobbit) and Citroen DS(Pressnell) cover everything?

I note that Amazon has a copy for sale at $285.00 US, so it would want to be good!!!

Just wondering if it is worth while trying to track down a copy.

    Cheers

This book has to the most comprehensive to date, at the back is a list of serial numbers by year, paint colours, upholstery colours

The photos are very good, but not as artistic as some other books, gives excellent coverage of all D models.

This book has been out of print for a number of years, it was around $70 new,

the price on Amazon is quite high, depends how badly you want it

    AWESOME BOOK
i bought mine in last few years for $45 at a local swapmeet
it was sold new by one of them dealers that frequent swapmeets with mainly new automotive books
perhaps buy a mag like JUST CARS and contact any book sellers in there, or keep your eyes on ebay (worldwide search) for one
or go to your next local swapmeet
you should be able to find one a lot less than amazon prices

Excellent book, and excellent series. I have both the Original Citroen DS and Original Mini Cooper & Cooper S, and they both follow the same excellent and comprehensive formula.

Hello, before any of you sell a kidney to buy a copy, it has been reprinted in hardback. Available in the UK for £35.

I was interested in buying a copy but the prices put me off, managed to borrow a copy from (I think) the Canberra Uni Library via our local library to have a look at one. I thought it was good but didn't justify , to me, the prices asked. The new ones from the UK sounds 0k. Cheers Dave

Bobbitt's work is general in nature when compared with The Original DS.
It is the definitive publication....hence its popularity, rarity and sometimes price.
Two others are "Citroen daring to be different" by John Reynolds .. published by Haynes and also
Citroen DS by Daniel Denis and Thibault Amant also under the Haynes print stable.

Do a search at The Book Depository. They sell worldwide with no postage charge.

Wow - talk about reviving an old post! Amazing that this one survived two major crashes of AF.

It seems I have the DS library catalogue pretty well sorted then with at least three titles mentioned above.

The link works! It takes you to an intermediary site!
There is a blue bar under the Amazon Logo that says 'continue to Amazon'. Click on this to go to the page required!

Hello, the re-published book (not updated, just re-printed) is published by

    Herridge and Sons Ltd
    [email protected]
    www.herridgeandsons.com

Post free in UK, Europe £5, rest of the world £12

And, with Amazon, I now use their smile.amazon shop. It may be a big deal, they give 0.5% of the cost to a charity of your choice. I give to the Lifeboats.
