Default C6: Most Beautiful Large Car in the World!

    C/O Ateco......

CITROňN C6 SCOOPS WORLD'S MOST BEAUTIFUL CAR AWARD

The CitroŽn C6, which is set to arrive in Australia in mid-2006, has been
elected the World's most beautiful large sedan in the annual 'L'Automobile
piý Bella del Mondo' awards that celebrate the cars that have made the
greatest contribution to the advancement of car design and styling.

Presented by a jury of leading artists, car designers, architects and
stylists from around the world, the judges for the 2005 award included
Bruno Alfieri, Mario Bellini, Rossana Bossaglia, Fulvio Cinti, Elio
Fiorucci, Heinz Mack, Vittorio Matino, Kenneth Noland, Mario Piazza,
Antoine Prunet, Carlo Rivetti, Bruno Sacco and Massimo Vignelli. The judges
were so impressed by the CitroŽn C6, they gave it four times as many points
as the second placed car in its class.

The CitroŽn C6's inimitable shape is a result of a desire to be unique in
its market place and to be instantly recognizable as a CitroŽn, from its
long overhang at the front and short rear overhang, through its smooth
aerodynamic curves to its refined details, such as the rear lights.
Features such as the concave rear window are also uniquely eye catching.
But this exquisite styling does not place form over function. The CitroŽn
C6 is spacious, comfortable and easy to use in all conditions and for all
    requirements.

"The presentation of the award to CitroŽn for the C6 also maintains a fine
tradition," says Miles Williams, Manager of CitroŽn in Australia. "The
    CitroŽn C2, C3 and C4 are all winners of the award in their own categories;
so really, if you want a car that is the most beautiful in the world,
CitroŽn is the only place to go!"

yes! i've been eyeing the C6 for a while now...i think its absolutely stunning...and now that my parents have caught the citroen bug, it won't be a hard task to convince them to trade in their old vienta (which is about to die) for a work of art!

anybody know rough prices when it is released?

The prices I'm hearing start from about £32,000 here in the UK. How that will relate to Australia I'm not sure.
It's not difficult to see why the C6 is so lovely, just look at the pedigree....IT'S A CX, for the 21st century!!!

Agree it is a very beautiful looking car but will it suffer the same traits of reliability other PSA models do.

I know someone that went from an Mi16 to a Camry (at the advice of a son-in-law) to a 407. They also own a 180. When I asked them why the Camry, they admitted it was a mistake.

It will compete with the 607 so that will make it $75-80k.

I wanna see it in retro colours - the old browns, teals, light blues and yellows etc that coloured 60s-70s model vehicles. There isn't enough variety in the colours of cars on the road today and I think I you're going to have such a extraordinary car such as the C6 it ought to be an extraordinary colour. With today's paint technologies you could make some of the old colours quite interesting indeed.

Anyone reckon that the colours of the CX would work well on the C6?

Actually that's exactly what I was thinking - DS included. However, convincing the public to buy old coloured cars may be difficult...

Even when there are a variety of colours available, they are generally only available in their home market. When the 206 was first released Down Under, you could get it in 14 colours, but it wasn't long before this was halved.

When looking at colours on the road today, it appears your choices are black, silver, white, red, blue - or shades of. Though Holden and Ford offer more but this is their home market.

A friend is getting an SLK350 and is paying several thousand to get it in a custom colour, yellow. Not my taste but it could be the only one in OZ.

As I'm sure the aussie group that went to France would tell you, the C6 they had at the rally site looked great in Black!

My C3 is very reliable. I think reliability is about how a car is maintained. If its let go it is unreliable.

There have been a couple of recent post about the unreliablity of modern Citroens, that have nothing to do with their maintenance records. ie Sensless Drives failing due to software bugs.

Yeah? What about the Poogoe 307's in Europe, going aflame, due to corrosion in the electrical circuitry of the servo pump....
