The rumoured price for the C6 is $85 to 90k.

I thought the C6 in black (well more like VERY dark grey) looked OK but is symptomatic of so many French/Euro cars at present. THey are all bland colours - greys, dark blues, silvers - it is very rare to see anything more interesting.

The car really looks better in the flesh - the media release pics do it little justice. It is also QUITE large. Longer than a DS IIRC. There were a few around to compare it against

I asked our friends in Paris why this is so. It is just the fashion and people think they are being classier by buying a colour such as this. They also hide the dirt better i think.

I reckon a C6 in a brightish metallic red would look pretty good. One of the nicest XMs I have ever seen was a metallic light burgundy colour with cream interior. Not many of those around.

Oh, and speaking of bland, it is nice that Peugeot has again successfully copied the Toyota Corolla/Mazda 3 look. Do you get a free cardigan with a 307?

Yeah red metallic C6 is the go I think.

The 307 was one of the first of the modern hatches, so give it a rest

I was fortunate to be able to sit in the C6 V6 last week in Paris. It really is an awsome car and as, if not more comfortable as a car twice it's price. It was much bigger than I expected. I was buying some accessories for my current, and the technicians still were unsure of when it will hit the showrooms offically - belive they are attempting to 'iron out' any probs as Cit simply cannot afford for this model to have the same problems that the XM suffered. I say drive away top spec exclusive in OZ will be $90-95K.
Also, did not actaully see that many C4's in Paris (was there for 8 days) - probably saw only 5-6 per day (nearly all were iron grey 4 doors). C1 is a great little car, shame it wont be coming here. Didnt actaully see any of them either, only in showroom. Lots of C3's and quite a few C2's)
Megans are everywhere as are 206. It was also refreshing to only count about 5-6 new Golf's the whole week & only saw 1 Honda Jazz. Go Jacques with the import tarifs!

A little bit off the C6 topic, but regarding colour, I noticed spotting my (non-French) replacement for the 206, that silver Golfs are mostly badged 1.6: dreary colour choice, dreary engine choice

So true Smiffy. Sorry I didn't get to meet you however, I know Craig did. (Or did I? Met so many fantastic people but it all became a blur after a while) See you in Dubbo next year.

Craig & I almost got a ride in a C6 while we were in Paris however, the fellow that was going to oblige us (our french friends tried to organise this with this fellow) had to fly off to Japan unexpectedly so we missed out. The French friends had a ride in it the weekend before the DS 50th event. They are all DS & earlier CitroŽn people so I was surprised that they were very full of enthusiasm for the C6.

We all agreed that it is a very stylish car. It was great to see it "in the flesh".

Craig commented that about 90% of new cars in Paris are the rather boring silver, black, dark blue colours. I'd love to see the C6 in a red metallic (not bright red, that cherry red or a little darker).

    Cheers

Just a question to those who've seen the C6 in person, do you think it will have very "strong" road presence?

It is the worlds classsssiest car, a new millennium CX, far superior to Peugeot 607 & Renault's ugly Vel Satis. More comfortable than a Bentley Arnage. I dont think may will be sold here unfortunately as people percieve German to be more luxe.
French does it better than German.

I like the olive green, but the darker red is my favourite. I suppose I must be biassed, as of course you all know my CX turbo is very dark red, in fact, the same "Rouge Delage" as gibgib's "custard & plum" (yes, that really is the official name for it) 2cv.
Uga asked if the car will have "presence" on the road. Well, a car that big nearly always does!
I hadn't noticed before, but look under the doors, at those sill covers. does it shout "series 2 CX" at you? john s

In marketing terms, it's generally accepted that dark metallics are perceived as more 'classy' than other colours. I thought everyone knew that...

I may get the new C6 soon.

What is your opinions of the current beige colour for the car?

What colour do you think suits this car best?

Bourrasque blue looks nice, and the Thorium grey with beige leather and the very dark grey. Silver is OK but boring and robs the front of some definition of line.

I think black inside and out is the most elegant and timeless colour for this car.

It's a moot point really, but if I had the money I'd have either blue or rouge delage....with the required camel leather interior (minus camel spittle!)
