    Default Advertising Slogan

When will Citroen Australia change it's marketing to the more modern 'Nothing moves you like a Citroen', like the rest of the world? Isn't 'Vive la Difference a bit school?

    Qu'est-ce qu'il fait ATECO?

As far as I'm aware, citroen first used this slogan back when the XM was launched. The ad was narrated by Sir Anthony Hopkins, in one of his more Quiet spooky voices.....(I'm sure you all remember Silence of the lambs, now you get the mood I'm trying to create).

Basic marketing technique really; you don't change slogans like you change shirts as people get used to associating certain slogans with certain products.

"Berger Paints, keep on keeping on"

"Benson & Hedges, When only the best will do"

"British Paints, Trust British Paints? Sure can."

    'Toyota, Oh what a feeling"

    "You're in Marlborough Country"

    "Ahhhhh, Bisto"

    "Which Bank?"

Anybody remember when they were first used? Many are registered so they can't be taken up by other companies.
So I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a change.

True, but gotta love the "When you're on to a good thing stick to it" ... which became "When you find a better thing, switch to it" .. one very clever piece of marketing. ! Money, cash for comment.

I think in Australia we are a bit rude and crude and the saying calls to mind a cheeky quip to finish it off as ..."laxette"... and the advertising guys know it! No offence meant of course.

    Regards.

Archrival, I've been meaning to ask you, where you got the pic for your avatar from? I only thought they did the CX orphee in series 1, but your pic is clearly a series 2? john s

That last picture of the gold CX orphee, I was at that event which was the Citromobile at utrecht in holland, and the car looks stunning in the flesh!
Did you see the XM that was also being converted to open top?

Thanks John. Wondered what a chop top XM would look like. Now sadder and wiser. The Orphee looks beautiful though.
