For all I know he could still have it (or the major components) in his shed!!

He must be getting on a bit these days. perhaps someone should make initial contact with him, to at least find out how he did it
Very interested in getting on contact with the P76 engine guy, any ideas on who and where?

    Now ya talkin!

Porsche air-cooled flat six how cool would that be
in a DS if it could be done and that wonderful engine note is an
added bonus.( mind you Air-cooled Porsche engines are not cheap )

Apparently superchargers or blowers were used on D's, for instance police models. Here is one mounted on a convertible D

I imagine a current day compressor would produce a lot of juice from the sturdy D engine.

    Default Jack Weavers car

Yes, it's all been done. In the '70's Jack Weaver in Melbourne turbocharged a '63 ID19, metallic blue if I recall correctly, which was reputedly good for over 200 kph. He then went on to insert a P76 V8 into a ID21 break, but I'm not sure whether this was ever completed. I've never seen it. I'm sure further details could be obtained.

This car now resides in my fathers backyard in Perth, sad to say its now at the end of the road. The motors gone into storage and the bodys been out in the paddock for several years.

In terms of adding a modern day fuel injection system, Graham Wallas on the Pug forum sings the praises of Megasquite...not expensive.

The turbo or V8? If the latter, can you give any insights in to how it was done?

One of the many plans I have in store for Moby Dick is to adapt the engine to Megasquirt injection using readily sourced modern injection components.

It's not going to happen until well after the round australia rerun, however.

That being said, I can hardly wait to get started on the project!

I'm keen to talk to your farther about the remains in Perth (I'm in Perth as well) and also perhaps to meet and check out your coupe?
