Default The performance end

I recently did a bit of a comparison of the higher-end (performance-wise) production Cit models and came up with this table:

0-100 qtr mi. 1000m top spd. bhp/ton
SM inj. 8.3s 16.50s 30.20s 229km/h 118.67
CX Turbo gti 8.2s 16.50s 29.70s 208km/h 119.23
BX 16v gti 8.4s 16.40s 30.20s 217km/h 149.11
XM V6 24v 8.6s 16.20s 29.40s 235km/h 135.59
Xantia V6 8.2s 15.09s 29.10s 230km/h 128.07
Xsara 16v VTS 8.7s 16.30s 29.80s 220km/h 135.29

Seems a small list, but then it's not exactly a marque known for performance vehicles (Xsara WRC excepted!!). The figures are taken from the website www.globalcar-parts.com, so can probably be taken with a grain of salt (anyone wanna cry foul? Shane? ). They all seem to be a bit similar... I've seen differing figures on different websites, but this one seemed to have the most complete and comprehensive array of figures.

Have I missed anything...?

Sound a bit slow. The series GTi 16valve and CX turbo are about 7.8seconds and 140mph (only 208km/h top speed Do want a demonstration of far, far, far higher speeds than that ).

The 24valve XM v6 should be quite a bit quicker than that in manual form too.

The AX GT is worth mentioning. Not the version you get in australia, (which was a much slower car), but the one we had here in England. 0-60mph about 7.7 seconds, top speed 120mph, power 85bhp.
I've had 2 of these and if you do a drag start from the lights, it will happily blast an AUDI TT john s
