    Default (Shane) CX dashboard doors

Hi shane, on your dashboard, the holder and door for the on-board computer.... what condition are they in? The holder, are the pegs that hold the door intact? The door, are the little loops that go on the pegs intact?
I have a good holder, and a good door if you are interested? I tried to find the spare coin holder which I know I have somewhere, but for the time being, it's lost!
Today I finally got my computer working...yay!!! john s

Excellent new about getting the trip computer working. Mine always worked until I installed the new injection computer. Since that time it has been an "Inverse Trip Computer" ie: the harder I put my foot down, the less fuel it uses, yet if I drive like grandpa simpson it returns horendous consumption figures

All the dash doors are broken in mine I have looked into replacement cost, however they are simply to expensive to buy new when you need all three of them.

I forgot to mention, when I get time (say 2010) I'm going to look into replacing the hinges on mine with proper plastic hinges that are used on model aircraft. They are used for the rudder/alerons (sp?)/flaps/etc...

I'm not sure if it'll work out, however it's worth a try !!

So, something like this might just fit the bill?

    Yeah,

the problem is how do you get the door back on the base without smashing the fragile plastic Better still... How on earth did you get the door off the base without smashing it (neat trick, you must be the first that's managed that !!).

I assure you it IS possible to put the door back on, but I don't have the 2 little springs, or I would have done so. You use a very fine electrical screw driver to prise the loop over the peg. The peg has to be ok first of course, and these are!

    OK,

I've still got the springs and broken parts of the doors. I think they were mostly broken when my father bought the car (the trip computer was ok until my brother in law said "What's this" and before my father could stop him he pulled the door off smashing it's hinges ).

You don't have a whole set of 3 do you

Hehehehe!!! don't be so silly, of course not! I don't even have a complete good set for either of my CX's! (black and grey needed)
It just so happens, that the holder, and door here are duplicated. I need 2 good cubby hole bases, as I have a good door in both black and grey. The pegs have broken off the ones I have
I will keep looking as I know I have a spare coin holder somewhere, but I can't remember if the door on it is any good. If/when I find it, your name is on it!
