The Aussie/Japanese joint venture "The goddess of 1967" which started this thread was ordered & picked up from JBHI a couple of days back for $9.95 on DVD and watched again after many years. Sadly it's not on BlueRay. I wonder where the D is now "checks the members list*

    Hi Phil,

That pink DS is now in Brunswick. I saw it recently. Owned by a guy who runs a wedding car hire place. He has fixed it up nicely and he also has a red SM (the one that was on car sales for a while)

    cheers Tony

Sydney Road is so Citroen Tony.

Saw the yellow 2CV in the window of the tyre joint?

Glad to see the red SM has gone to a good home. I'll keep a eye open for the pink D.

    Cheers

Speaking of cinema I chanced across a video clip of a band Dappled City/ies? With singer driving around Paris in Pallas mid sixties version, nice car crap video, filming a car from different angles with a guy singing is not very interesting.

Saw bits of a movie called "Simone" starring Al Pacino recently. A dark blue early DS makes an appearance, along with other well known classics. Rare for American cinema.

Betty Blue, the French soft porn classic featured a DS and later a CX. In the video at 1min 20sec, Betty Blue (actress Beatrice Dahl) does a bit of a paint job on the DS.

Filming was in Montreal, for X-Men: Days of Future Past.

I hope they didn't hurt any of them.

If you want to see Citroens just type in Godard or Truffaut in youtube then veer off onto the lesser known films listed in association with these, there's a goldmine of bad French films loaded with car scenes, all fun to watch if you need to study vintage French cars : )

My 9yo daughter took a shine to the movie "Will" (2011) over the weekend (Foxtel), the film features a H van in spotless dark green, and a DS convertible, looks like a cut down 4-door with rear doors welded up, its red, with awful white upholstery. Nice shots of it driving across Europe, including aerial shots.
This film centers on the trials and tribulations in the lives of two main fictional characters eleven-year-old Will Brennan and Bosnian footballer Alek and their trek to see Liverpool play AC Milan in the 2005 Champions League Final in Istanbul.
Brennan is Liverpool's number one fan able to recite fact infinitum about the club and at public school in the south of England since his father Gareth (Damian Lewis) is emotionally unable to care for him following the death of Will's mother. Gareth appears one day out of the blue with tickets for the Liverpool match in the 2005 league finals, the latter following an absence of several years after their ban from the sport due to actions of fans resulting in deaths.
Unknown to Will his father has health problems and suddenly dies and in his belief that the adults in his life are conspiring to quash his wish to get to the match to honour his father, two of his mates at school start Will on his way for reason of their own. His being missing becomes world-wide news and he encounters others that either support Liverpool or the game of football one of which is Alek, in Paris, who stopped playing in the sport following a tragic incident due to his own actions in his hometown during the civil war.
Alek is initially reluctant to get involved for various reason but a friend does his best to encourage Alek to recover from his personal demons by helping Will reach his destination. The two are off on the final leg of the journey stopping along the way in Alek's hometown where they elude police. Although they reach Istanbul they do not have tickets but in the quest to get them Liverpool stars Kenny Dalglish, Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher, recognise him who come to the rescue and makes possible for Will to realise his dream and much more than he could have imagined if his father's original plans had come to be.[1][2]

If you haven't done so already, do yourself a favour and hire Gattaca. It's great distopian study of society, technology, genetic perfection vs humanity etc and has a great futuristically powered DS Chapron. Great cast too.
