You could be right, probably a Renault driver stealing a decent car... he certainly doesn't know how to close a DS boot lid philistine!!

    Cheers

    Cheers Peter.
I'll have to poke around a bit and see if I can find it. Probably on YouTube if anything.

I'm familiar with Yreka (pronounced the same way), which is a rather famous old mining town in northern California, and Eureka Springs, Arkansas, which is an artsy-fartsy sort of village my dad grew up in, and I attended high school in.

Interesting that even now the cliché of a DS being an architects car still holds some currency.

Hello, Week End is a french film with an eight minute single shot along a traffic jam which ends with a crashed car and bodies on the pavement. All sorts in that one...

In Spielberg's Munich with Eric Banner the bad guys have a swank 21 Pallas, only problem is it goes through one shot with recessed door handles and arrives in the next shot with old style doors, a different car!
I saw Mr Banner in a Mosman coffee shop ages ago and was itching to point it out, given his penchant for cars, but then thought, whatever...
I always love watching the same cars tootling past in different scenes, you can confuse the viewer by showing them from different angles etc

The classic soft porn movie Betty Blue featured a DS in the first part of the movie and a CX mid way through. There were a lot of other bits featured between the Citroen vignettes to keep one interested until the Citroens appeared.

My recollection of that movie is summed up in one word, which often features in my description of Citroen, particularly when one of my cars has some problems.

On the other hand, Leonard Cohen is 100% cool! In My Secret Life video takes us back to the DS/Architecture association.

I have a feeling of déjà vu with this, but here goes:

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy could have listed a DS as a lead actor given the amount of screen time it got!

That looks like the kid sister to Harry Gieger's aliens...I can just see Sigourney Weaver giving it a hard time for being out of uniform...

The 1979 movie Tim, featuring a very young Mel Gibson and a CX.

To broaden things a little... try "Diva" from 1981. A French thriller with a fabulous sound track.
Along the way, the film pays homage to the Traction - the camera is in love with the car and shoots it from many flattering angles throughout the film.

SBS showed a movie 10th August but it is still available online until 24/8/13.

Barney's Version : "A touching life story of an impulsive, blunt and irrepressible character who behind his gruff exterior is a kind, romantic man who dearly loves his family and friends. Paul Giamatti delivers a stunning performance in this sensational, unusual and thrilling biopic. Nominated for the Golden Lion at the 2010 Venice Film Festival. Directed by Richard J. Lewis and also stars Rosamund Pike, Minnie Driver and Dustin Hoffman."

Paul Giamatti is great in it (you may remember him from American Splendour ), but more to the point at one stage his character drives a DS. You have to wait until about minute 52 of a two hour movie but I found it a thoroughly worthwhile experience. ( The whole movie that is! )

It has been bugging me! The trailer for Channel Nine serial Power Games occasionally shows briefly what must be a DS. What do you think? It only shows very briefly in one of the trailers.

If it's the car at 22 seconds I'd say not - it has parking lights and what appears to be rear wheel arches - having said that I'd thought the same as you when seen on TV.

A few other films with Cits are (probably mentioned already):

    - Betty Blue with a DS in midnight blue that the lead character dumps a bucket of paint on....didn't really mind as she was starkers at the time.

    - Obviously, Cannonball Run (I think no 2) with the americanafied SM.

-A film with Elliot Gould where a Pug 504 chases a DS around with the DS eventually breaking in half and still managing to get away (or was it the other way around...can't remember exactly).
