Default 86 bx trs- those strips on the roof

Hi, I have rust coming thru underneath the strips that run along the roofline, on both sides and heading for the windscreen (prob already there). has anyone managed to remove these in one piece? they sure dont look like they're made to come off easy, but i cant let the roof rot thru either. any help appreciated.

    Patrick,

marked FAO "David (UK)" as I know he has removed those strips and is to my knowledge the only guy who has. He has pics of the operation & I'm sure if you ask, he'll either post them on the site or e-mail them to you.
I think from memory they're held on with a body sealer/mastic and whilst it's no big deal refitting and sealind it a bit howsyafather getting them off in the first place.

If it ain't broke, use a 12" shifter.....that usually does the trick!!

From memory of the posts mentioned above, they come out sideways but they're are only plastic and break real easy. There might also be some self tappers through the tabs internally that have to be removed before you start to ease it off.

    Good Luck
