    Default Removing gearbox sump

    I am stuck....
    Citroen manul says :''
    Remove:
    * the air filter.
    * the three screws securing pressure regulator togearbox. "

    Haynes says" Undo the two retaining bolts and the support bracket nut "

    First I had tried to remove the sump without removing the Regulator -
    I failed!
    Second tried to remove the pressure regulator but found only one screw.
    How do I remove the PR??
    Thanks

    I'm trying to figure out what your talking about. A CX ??

    You can't pull the 'sump' off the gearbox. You can withdraw the housing through the wheelarch which I have done several times (it certainly is fun).

    Can you let us know what sort of car your talking about ?? If it's a CX you will need to remove the studs through the bell housing. Remove the nuts and slide the accumulator/regulator housing back. The using vice grips (not on the threads) undo the studs so you can move the regulator/accumulator housing out of the way. You can also use two nuts and lock them together in order to remove the studs (a much better way if the studs are tight).
