Default 02 Xsara vts pulsing steering issue

The power steering pulses going around corners. I've tried flushing out the fluid a few times and it's not really helping. It's not leaking any fluid either. Any thoughts? Thanks.

    Hi James

*High spot in a front tyre?
*Warped brake disc under braking needing machining?
*Crook or loose front wheel bearing?
    *Wheel nuts tight?
    *Tie-rod ends worn?

These are just some of the areas I would start looking at.

    Hope this helps

Does it pulse when you load up the steering standing still?

I had this problem with a Xantia. Very different system of course, but replacing the suction line from reservoir to hydraulic pump fixed it.

Hose looked fine, but apparently the pump was sucking air.

    Cheers

Some do some dont. A friend has a very low milage vts and it also does it. Has perfectly healthy suspension and brakes. Its almost like water hammer in the system. Does it more around tighter slow speed roundabouts? Try doing the same manoeuvre at a higher engine speed/lower gear. Also sometimes tight parallel parking and moving the wheel to quickly.

It's really apparent on longer sweeping corners. But any corner in both directions it shows its presence.
I've checked the suspension and it seems ok and dosnt skip around. I've never had a car do this before. The hose might be a good start as my reservoir hisses air whenever I remove the cap, like it's slightly pressurised.
