Default Oil filter removal - C5 x7 RHH

How are you guys with the C5 x7 and the RHH engine removing the oil filter? There doesn't seem to be a way to get a 27mm socket and ratchet on there.

This one keeps coming back. In brief these are the ways- Pick one.

    1. Buy a crowsfoot spanner as sold for the Ford version of the engine (specialist tools).
    2. Use a 27mm slogging spanner (any tool shop)
    3. Use a short handled wide opening shifter (Bunnings etc)
    4. Cut off a 27mm ring spanner. Get a cheapie from anywhere..

I opted for number 4.. With slow firm pressure the o-ring seal gives way, a torch to see and a finger
applying downward pressure to the ring spanner head and off it came.. as advised by the group.

You need to be sure it is done up properly as even the professionals can leave the filter cover a little loose, creating an oil leak.
