Default How do I improve the reversing lights on a 2015 C5 Tourer?

At night the reversing camera image is a totally useless grey screen because the light output from the reversing lights is insufficient.

I'm not sure whether it's possible to increase the light output from the reversing lights with brighter bulbs/globes, or whether I need to have supplementary reversing lights fitted (not sure of the legal situation with that option).

    Any suggestions?

I've only had the wagon since April 2019, so not sure if it's the original camera. Can I order the updated one through my local Citroen dealer? It's under warranty till 2021, but not sure if it would be a claimable item.

If itís under warranty itís covered as long as itís not been replaced already

    Hi jackpos
Perhaps the replies have been a bit too brief. If you contact your local Citroen dealer and register as the current owner, they can look up the computer system and tell what has been done to the car, and if there is an update of any sort for the car. Then discuss your problem with them.
Continental Cars in Punchbowl might be a good place to talk too. No BS there.

Thanks for posting this. I've never been able to use my C5 reversing camera in the dark, but my wife's C4GP reversing camera is much better. I didn't think that it might be upgradeable. I will ask the guys at Continental about getting it replaced.

A single Hella 5" 55W driving light fitted at the rear as a reversing light was enough to enable Peter Jansen to average about 80km/h in reverse for many kilometres in his R16TS after having a head-on with Bob Watson in an identical car in a BP Rally many years ago, without a reversing camera. This fact should tell you something.......
Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone............
