Default Replace stop lights bulbs C5 X7

The RTA manual recommends, turning off ignition, waiting 4 minutes, then disconnecting battery before replacing dead stop light bulbs.
Then it makes a 2 minutes job into a 20 minutes f####g around. Any reason why I should do that?

I agree with David. Just change the globe. These days I always test a new globe with a multimeter before stuffing around fitting it.

On my 3rd brake light globe already... They keep blowing.. Are they just old globes or am I missing something?

I've had mine 3 years, and not blown a single globe. Would not even know how to change them.

Are you sure that you are not driving like a leper - and leaving your foot on the brake pedal?

That's funny Dijon. Mmm my wife drives the car so I suspect you may be on to something there!
I followed procedure and disconnected battery this time. See how it goes.. A Copper pulled her up and let her off with a warning.
