Default Seeking a replacement for XM rear wiper arm nut cover

As it's my XM's 19th birthday today, I'd like to get it a present of a replacement cover for the cover for the nut that holds the rear wiper on. A while ago this either just fell off or was 'helped.'

I thought it would easy - that wipers were pretty generic or that the cover or whole arm would be a shared part. This doesn't look to be the case. I'm not expecting that there's a stock of XM covers or arms anywhere, but surely this part isn't unique. The closest I've come up with is cover from a Xantia, probably S1 (the arm is different). While cover has a listed part number for the Xantia it doesn't for the XM, so I can't be sure it would work and the last time I saw a Xantia it was also missing it's cover.

Any idea? Even a photo of the missing cover or that of a Xantia might help.

What year model are we talking? I have just had a look at an early one and it is nothing like that. It is hidden by the spoiler and has a long shroud. I am not braving the weather tonight to look further afield at newer versions.

Soft plastic hex nut caps are readily available here (usually black, sometimes white) from fsastener and hardware suppliers. Google for someone in Vic. Here's one such- https://www.supfast.com.au/protectin...rews-and-nuts/

Spot the brain cell, 19th birthday, it's a late one. I have a couple of them laying around, will check tomorrow.

Andrew you just prompted me to convert my Orga number - my XM's 'birthday' was 29 May 2000 - so one day older than yours!! Mine got new rotors and pads for this year's birthday .

I was told by the previous owner that mine was one of last 4 sold - start of warranty date is listed as 31/12/2000 - so 7 months from date of manufacture to date of sale.

    Cheers

    Alec

PS - will check for rear wiper arm nut cover when I get home in a day or 2!

I'd be more concerned with all the return hoses!

I have just removed one from a parts car. It just clips into the arm pivot on the right of the photo. It is different from the one on earlier XMs, which is lower profile to fit under the spoiler.

Send me a PM and we'll go from there.

    Hi Roger,
If your weather is anything like Melbourne's, I'd stay inside. I was expecting, at best, a photo of one: the real thing would be a great bonus but there's no hurry. It disappeared last year and I needed an event, however contrived, to prompt me into action.

It's not raining here at present.

I took a photo and emailed it to myself but my phone is slow to send emails. So I thought I would send a description for now.

    Hi Alec,

I checked out your car's details on service.citroen.com when it was up for sale. I've been told that my car, which was registered as XM-2000, was the last one sold and that it was difficult to sell. Interestingly, despite being a day younger, it's warranty is listed as starting on 16/8/2000. One can only wonder what the real story is: was mine used as a demo was yours actually the last one the door?
