    Default C5 X7 2011 sedan - rear light query

After breaking the LH tail light I replaced the cover but water had entered and left a white powdery coating on the bulb holder/circuit board. Recently I went to open the boot and it won't open.

Does anyone know if the electric release for the boot is connected to the tail light circuit board please?

I had an issue once straight after washing the 2013 C5 where
I was unable to open the boot. It was obvious water had penetrated the locking device. Checked the French forums, but no one had reported such a fault.
After a full day in the queensland sun the fault disappeared....
