    Default DS gearbox tools

    Greetings,
Does anyone have, or the drawings for, the gearbox tools:

    3172T
    3188T
    3174T

We are overhauling a BvH gearbox, but having trouble re-setting the clearances.

Bit obvious I guess (especially as it seems you've probably thumbed through the manuals already) - but have you looked at the technical drawings at the ends of the sections in the repair manuals? May need to look at 814 volume 1 and volume 2.

It's only a little bit of help, but an indication of what you're looking for is here:

No Drawings, but at least images of those tools - I hope someone here has them 3172T doesn't look like an easy manufacture even with tech drawings. . .

The Déesse has all the characteristics of one of those objects fallen from another universe that fed the mania for novelty in the eighteenth century and a similar mania expressed by modern science fiction: the Déesse is first and foremost the new Nautilus.

Do you already have the tool for setting the pinion depth 3170-T? This is a very critical dimension to get right. If you don't have the tool, you can make one from a piece of 80mm ground shaft with a transverse hole for a dial gauge to go through. Use a gage block on a layout table (or a glass table) to zero the dial indicator and you are good to go. I would have posted a photo of the one I made, but it's 600Kb......
