    Default LHM Brisbane

    Hi all
Where is the Cheapest place for LHM in Bris these days?
Last time I bought it was from Onshore Oils in Hemmant. Approximately what should I be paying? Current 12x1l is $177 plus gst, 20l is $180 plus gst.
    Many thanks!
    Mark

hi Mark, get in touch with Golden West Lubricants in WA and see who they distribute with in Brisbane. I got 20 Litres for about $120 recently via local dealer via them.

If my memory serves me correct, $180 for a 20 litre container is a good price.
Nevertheless, very much interested if $120 is bona fide. I'll have something to negotiate with next time.

PS: The $180 was inclusive of GST.

    Thank you for that!
I did call them and confirmed that price - $120 for 20l.
The Queensland distributor is Onshore Oils - so back where I started.
I've ordered a drum in any case.
Many thanks to all for the input.
    Kind regards,
    Mark

It seems to hover around $25 a litre at repco/autobarn/etc .... so if your car leaks you will be very broke in a very short time ( $500 for 20 litres versus the $120 someone above mentioned ).

Sure is, however, whilst Golden West are quite happy to supply "trade/manufacturers" prices to Joe Blow" well and good. As Shane confirms, some of us has to pay $25 /litre, I was happy to pay $9. I shall use this information in my next purchase.

I have just made a very welcome discovery ! Firstly my local Autobarn has Penrite LHM+ for c. $22.50/litre (with only 1 or 2 litres on the shelf).

Just checked Total oil distribution in NSW. It is handled by Motor Oils Australia (Ramsgate), and by Global Lubricant Distributors.

Now GLD don't really seem all that global - in fact their 4 depots are at Lismore, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie and Tamworth. Not bad, as I go to all those places from time to time. Pretty good for all NSW North Coast Citroen owners though!

But wait, it gets better! I rang the Tamworth guy yesterday, and he does regular deliveries to Armidale, and will deliver product almost to my door for free!!!

I tried to order a 20l drum of LHM+, but he was a bit vague about that (didn't know that it was available). However, he has good supplies of 1 litre bottles @ $12 (ex GST). For a box of 12 bottles, he dropped the price to $10/bottle. Sounded good enough to me! So for $132 (inc GST), I will have 12 litres of LHM+, delivered to a nearby workshop, only 24 hours after ordering, and almost exactly half the price that Autobarn are charging.

I might have to investigate more Total products (I have mostly been using Nulon oils and coolant).

    Cheers

    Alec

Well let's look at this differently , They may not be "Global" by their locations , but how about "Global" by the sourcing of their lubricants? therefore Global Lubricants......distributors

You'll probably find Motor Oils reluctant to deal with you if you want a product used by current Cits and Pugs (eg Ineo ECS).

    Good point Harrison!

As to Motor Oil Aus, bad luck Sydney people! However I won't be rushing to find out about low ash oils from my local distributor, Global Lubricants, as the newest vehicle we own would be a 2001 model!

    Cheers
