Some owners got very creative trying to dissipate heat soak, unfortunately most ideas were conceived whilst suffering serious heat stroke. Not sure the vents actually achieved any decrease in engine bay temperature. Don't ever remember seeing any two cars the same. I had a green 23 a few years back that had them.

I had one dee see. The vents did not look "DIY".

Nevertheless, is this the D you now have?

Waiting, waiting, sorry photo would not upload despite of zipping it (noway of getting it down to <1K bytes); PM your email and I'll send (and discuss the history if it's the same one).

Easiest to reduce size of photo is:

    - type "PAINT" in bottom left corner in window search,
    - open "PAINT" app,
    - once in , open the photo you want to reduce,
    -then "HOME"
    - then "RESIZE",
    - Resize by percentage ie 10%.
    - save picture.....
    DONE!

There were clearly various chrome plastic vent covers available from other car makers. The only vents that were factory were the ones in the top of the front guards, in the first front cars.

I have that book "DS in Asia" and the variations from concerned citizens chopping holes and cutting bits out to stave off tropical heat sink are trully perverse. Most popular mod is cutting out sections out of the front number plate holder.

They donít look out of place - if they worked they might be more common
