    while I wait for an RACQ patrol I wonder if any opinions are available;Lost power dropped into manual mode with the SERVICE light and ESP ASR then GEARBOX alerts coasted to a halt and wonít fire but otherwise no indications now

    the roadside assistant thought it may be fuel pump (startyabastard did get a reaction) - thanks Bruce, I got a lift home - it is waiting to be towed to my mechanic, thanks again David I will direct him that way.

    Fusebox or filled it with petrol is my guess.

    Hope it gets sorted quickly and inexpensively.

    this is almost overwhelming, comrades, thank you
    i can very definitely say not petrol, not a second time.
    It had a major service (belt kits, DPF refilled, throttle repairs) last week so very conscious of it and all seemed good until now - sure, the "spanner" next to the odometer had not gone away, but with no alerts I thought that more a formality...

    It told him it was the crank angle sensor - tested ok, ready to go once the silicone cures.

    That will do it too. It won't inject diesel if it doesn't know where the crank and camshaft is. Wasn't aware you had just had timing belt replaced in the days before. Let's hope it stays in place a bit longer this time.
