    Default Brake Switch - Broken

Is there a universal brake switch for my 2CV or do I need to order an original?

Well I've never broken a 2CV brake switch, so never needed to find out!

Sorry Winkbul45, no 2CV in the family. Nevertheless the brake light switch is a pretty basic device to complete the circuit to provide power to the brake lights.
To answer your question - a genefic switch would do. The issue is the settings them up.

Mine must have had an electric fault as it was melted down. I don't know for how long, only because my wife drove behind me and told me: no brake lights.

The bloody cops drive behind me. They tell me "no brake lights" and give me a speeding ticket.

Lucky me, I have no idea how long I had no lights and I am glad the cops didn't tell me. :-)
