    Hi all!

I'm doing an article for the Dutch XM Club and would like
to know how many XMs officially were sold in AU.

Hi Arthur, probably hard to get an "official" figure as Citroen had a number of distributors from 1991-1998, but I'd say that no more than 250-300 would be a fair estimation. Here in Western Australia there seems to be more imports (ie turbo-diesels, 4cyl & Estates etc). We only ever officially recieved the 3.0V6 auto saloon. Not exact but I hope this helps you. Cheers

    Arthur,

UFO would be your man here - send him a PM and he might reply (he's away on holidays at the moment but has checked into the forum occasionally...

My father had a Australian sold series 1 XM V6 Exclusive until it was written off in November 2002 - we seem to remember hearing something like 60 S1's were sold here. Not 100% sure on that though...

Not many anyway - they are an extremely rare car and you hardly ever see one on the road.

Thanks Deka, I sent him an e-mail.
I noticed he's a happy XM Exclusive owner...

    Hi Arthur,

If I remember correctly in the last year (2000) that XMs were sold here the numbers were in the single figures!

They were comparatively expensive - the equivalent of a well equipped E Class Benz. Not many people in this country are prepared to pay that sort of money for a large French car (just ask Peugeot - they have sold even less 607s )

My dad was a happy XM exclusive owner too, until it developed a throttle sticking problem that no one could fix

It hit a tree in reverse at full lock very very fast.

    Icon10 another exclusive

I am another happy Exclusive (S2) owner albeit a private import. I have seen a black S1 and I think a white one here in Adelaide.
