Have you mistyped it? P numbers in the Cit listing don't go so high. Some instruments use these high codes for bus errors (ISO 9141).

This was the error the mechanic gave me, so diagnostic unit is no good or generic, maybe?

My feeling is that the reader has obtained a frame it cannot decipher, so it defaults to returning the ISO standard number. (0000 = false is reserved by the standard, and not available). The reader user manual should state the value used for such an error.

    Hi Guys,

    Phantom faults are a problem......

Our Berlingo is the only late Citroen we own with NO faults. If your mechanic did the diagnostics with just a fault ready, I wouldn't worry if the car is running properly.

If you use Diagbox to do a global test, it will at least tell you what components have a fault, and possibly what is failing.

    best regards,

    Greg

I've likely jinxed it, but my DS3 at present produces no error codes. The C5 on the other hand likes to complain about oil level.
