    Wouldn't the V6 have the ZF4HP20?

    Cheers

The 4HP20 holds about 8 litres, but draining will only lose 3L.

My son had one of these once ,i recall googling for the detail ,the level plug is on the back of the box near the exhaust ,as the engine has to be running in park to test the level ,,if you don't have a hoist you will have to set it in high put some stands under it for safety then slide under keeping away from the hot bits ,just about when you think its getting uncomfortably hot the thermo fan will cut in blasting you with hot air ,a 10mm socket with a couple of extension s and a uni douse the job ,,or you could just measure how much came out and put the same amount back in ,.ours had a leak into the coolant via the heat exchanger on top of the transmision, once fixed, we had to top up to level ,so didn't drain oil ,you are not going to get it all out with one go, so will have to do it a few times ,its worthwhile ,pugs

These early C5s tend to change into top too early with the standard gearbox software and it can sometimes result in a shudder going up an incline at 60-70. The Pug software for the equivalent model delays the converter lockup and it's then a much more pleasant car to drive. Just something to keep in mind if the converter seems to be shuddering sometimes on a C5 with the 4HP20 gearbox.

Draining it is easy. Getting the level right takes a little more effort. Earlier versions on the Xantia and XM has a dipstick, which avoids the need to use the inbuilt weir overflow level method.
