    Default 2006 Citroen C4 VTR

The car was driving fine.. went into limp mode briefly (for a hundred or so metres) , and when my wife pulled over to the side of the road and switched it off that was it. It displays as in economy mode. When the key is turned, the starter motor turns but it does not fire up. I can't hear the fuel pump when you turn they key but can't remember if you ever could on the C4. Has anyone experienced the same problem or have any suggestions? The vehicle has 230,000kms on the clock.

Because the car display says it's in economy mode, I would guess that your battery has died. I think I am right in saying that even though it still has enough grunt to turn the engine over, if the voltage has dropped below a critical threshold it will behave as yours is doing.

I know I always go on about fuse boxes but I will be checking that you have power to the injection fuse in the fuse box being a 1.6 also be careful overcharging alternator itís a Mitsubishi type
