Default C5 X7 tail light fitting

After undoing the two nuts holding the rear left tail light fitting it still won't budge. Do I assume there are some plastic tabs locating it? If so where are they and how do you release the whole unit?

I have an old smashed one at home but I'm in Dalby tonight after checking out the Observation Run for the upcoming Cit-in. I will be home tomorrow afternoon. I think there are some plastic spikes with a + cross section that locate it correctly into some holes in the body. It probably just needs some leverage or a bump to get it to come out backwards. If you want, I can get some pics of the back tomorrow arvo.

    Cheers, Ken

The Déesse has all the characteristics of one of those objects fallen from another universe that fed the mania for novelty in the eighteenth century and a similar mania expressed by modern science fiction: the Déesse is first and foremost the new Nautilus.

Thanks Ken. I do have a replacement but knowing which of the various protrusions are relevant is the challenge. Perhaps the one you have will show which ones actually 'engage'

I have taken mine out many times. As Ken says, al light external lateral tap should d o the job. There are no other plastic holding tabs, but merely two from memory locating plastic protrusions.

A little percussive maintenance will get it to move.
