    Default Wrecking C5 X7?

    Hi
Does anyone know of C5 X7 being dismantled?

Last night the chrome trim on the LH front door of our C5 was snapped off @30cm from the end.

How could this happen? The person hopping into the car opened the door wide into a chain mesh fence, sat down and hooked the trim piece in said fence. Rather than just hop out that sort it, no reef on the door until the trim snaps. Alcohol had 'impaired' their judgement.

With a back seat full of kids, I bit my tongue from making the fullest expression of response to how I felt about this - rant over!

So pack to my original question, I thought a good 2nd hand trim would be less wallet busting than new. Any tips where I might find on?

Oh and does anyone know if the chrome trim is the same across he C5 X7 series?

    Cheers
    Jason

    Hi

Try Landmark Spares in Sydney or ASV Eurocarparts.

Have a look on Gumtree. There was a blue one being pulled apart somewhere near Brisbane a while back.

It's usually best to start with the part number and get the dealer's price to begin with. In this case it is likely 8545GL which will have a dealer list of about $250. You want to confirm the part via the VIN, but the parts system shows the following:

That is ridiculous! What is it that makes it a Statutory Writeoff? It certainly looks repairable to me!

I don't think the drivers side would look as good judging by the ripples in the bonnet.

There is a clear shot of the driver's side. It does not look too bad at all! Click on the photo and scroll through the extra pics!
Looks like new forward panels needed. Perhaps a square up of the inner panels and strut mount!
    Cheers Gerry
