Default iPhone as a navigation aid.

Anyone use an iPhone as a GPS in a C5 X7 comfort. Mine works OK but there is no verbal instruction when driving with the bluetooth enabled for hands free communication. Does the bluetooth have to be disabled or is there a way of having both.?

I have recently used it in a hire car and while it was plugged in to the USB it went quiet. If you pull the usb out, then it became vocal once more. I figure it was trying to use the audio of the radio, but not connecting correctly. Not a straight answer sorry, but it might help a bit.

No problems using Bluetooth here. Have you got the phone paired for music playback? If so, make sure the source on the stereo is your phone and it will broadcast turn by turn directions over the music playing on the phone...

It won’t work with the radio on. The Bluetooth needs to be the source on the stereo to get turn by turn directions broadcast (basically, the Bluetooth just streams the audio output of the phone wirelessly to the car)...
