I have a green Madagascar 2CV that I think was bought from the Oxfam shop at Chermside shopping centre a few years ago. They also had silver DSes as well but I have learned that they were made of unpainted steel which the Brisbane humidity has now got to.

    Cheers, Ken

Could always use a molasses reduction bath to bring it back to untarnished metal.
I use a 25% solution in tank water, only works over 25 celcius

I've been amazed by how well this works.
& it is critical to paint / seal / fish oil as soon as the was-rusty metal is washed clean and dried.

    The link has amazing photos.
I wonder if there are other countries in the world where they still perform similar duties...
