I didn't think they were ever made I guess a good way to tell would be to see if the parts book has an injected fuel tank for a wagon.

You're right the factory never made efi safari

However it is possible to install the efi from a saloon

I had a DS 23 Safari EFi , I thought it was original . It had a Australian compliance plate dated 12/74.
    It had Autoclima AC .
wish I had never sold it.

    Default Safari efi

    Ahhhh.... the mythical White Whale

The "Original Citroen DS" Book/bible doesn't show any in the table of Break production (p. 97), but says in the text "...although a handful of of special order 2347cc - and 2175cc - models were fitted with electronic fuel injection." (P. 100)

I thought there was also reference to them in the data section, but can't find it now.

I've see photos of an Australian hydraulic injected break which I was told was a factory car.

I recall in the 80s a Safari that had been converted to EFi, BVM I think. The owner did it all himself, fuel tank, pump, wiring etc and he lightened and balanced the engine. But I can't remember seeing another one in the UK.

In the 90s, I put a DX5 engine and 5 speed manual by box in mine, but did a twin carb conversion to avoid having to use all the EFi gubbins. More recently a certain Adie Pease here has built a very nice one, fitted it with his 2527cc DS/CX engine conversion and L Jetronic fuel injection VA VA VOOM

Maybe there are some factory ones in France or perhaps Holland, would be interesting to know.

Why no ( or few) EFI safaris? Was it to keep purchase price down?

    Thanks for the info everyone
I had always thought there were no factory efi and missed the short reference in Reynolds
I recently bought a efi safari which I was told was imported for the Maltese embassy and converted to efi in oz
Looking at the engine plate it has dx5 on it so appears to be factory efi

I wouldn't go factory injection these days either way. Have a look at what is available these days. I still want to try building a megasquirt (this is what I'd like to do for my injected car if I ever find time or money to look at it). However .... KISS ....

throttle body injection.... To demonstrate how easy this should be to install .... Have a look at the roadkill guys.

they install one and get it working .. in the snow on the side of the road
