Default Broken handbrake release lever - anyone have a spare?!

    Bugger!

was driving around when after parking for lunch the plastic hand brake release lever snapped. Luckily I was able to release the hand brake and get home. After a bit of "friggin' around" I got it out, but of course no spare. I don't think gluing will work, maybe gluing and pinning it somehow. quick look on the web hasn't come up with that part as a spare either....

So: would anyone have one by any chance? Or know where to get one?

And: looks like I need to remove the whole dash to get the lever out and the little release lever and spring back in... true?

    Thanks. Sven

I have read somewhere on the forum where someone replaced without pulling the dash - Pottsy was that you after manufacturing an aluminium handle?

    Cheers

Thanks Chris (again) - Pottsy's story sounds about as awkward as I thought it will be - especially as the little spring has come off. Anyway, ordered the new lever for starters for 20 Euro. Once it is here I will become a contortionist and have a go putting it in.

What a friggin job that was. After multiple attempts I finally got the lever replaced. Getting the lever installed is the easy part, but to line up that stupid push-rod thingy with the hole in the lever, then reinstall that stupid spring.... arghhhhh, took me three attempts and likely a rib cage of bruises lying sideways on the sill....

But: success at last and working well. Hopefully never again...
