    Default BX paint code /name

    G'day.
I've got to do a few small paint jobs on the BX soon, and was wondering if anyone knows what the paint code or name might be.
It's just white.. Australian delivered 1988 TRI.
I took some photos of the two plates under the bonnet & there is a 4 digit number painted on the left hand front door hinge pillar, though I have no idea what that's about either.

There should be a three letter code between the air cleaner and the front strut. Sometime it is under the compliance plate or the mongoose alarm.

    Check this site

    https://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.a..._codes_citroen

The 4 number code is your RP number that is used for buying the right spare parts and will also give you the day the car was made.

    Cheers, Ken

Thanks Ken.. I'll have a look in the morning. I really didn't know what to look for, so your help is much appreciated.

You seem to know everything there is to know about these cars.. I have a few more questions if I may.

It will either be alpine white, or polar white. One is brilliant white, the other is more creamy.
I can't remember which is which!

Good link here showing colours for the BX - BWT being Blanc Meije 1983-1993
    https://www.citroen-forum.nl/forums/.../1194/#1991455

This is an excellent resource covering Citroen paint colours from 1934 - 2016, colour code, name, years and in many cases a picture.

That's the ORGA number stamped on Citroens on the day they are completed as sometimes their first rego's are way down the track.

    So 4366: 22nd October 1988.

    Regards,

    Danny

Hi Ken. Were the Oz delivered BX's built in France, or the UK (didn't they have an assembly plant in Slough UK??)

Also, on my car I have noticed a second flasher relay socket attached under the dash that is "Scotch locked" onto the original harness. Was that part of the Mongoose installation? Also, I have seen some sort of switch, over in the LH kick panel that is also shoddily installed..Was this also part of it ?

    Thank you

    Jason

The factory in slough was sold off long before the bx was born, the site now belongs to mars confectionary...as in mars bars!
