If anyone is bringing their cars along, I'll be wandering around with a camera, and would love to get some nice Citroen shots (shooting people's cars if you see them out enjoying a weekend drive when they're not at an event can seem a bit creepy), and hear the history of people's projects.

    cheers.

I'm really looking forward to making it along tomorrow. The last four years I have away for work.

The weather is just outstanding today, so fingers crossed for tomorrow.

I'll be bring my girls, so I hope there are coffee and food vans!

Might as well give the C5 a wash and tidy to get in the spirit of things.

As always, thanks to the few who volunteer their time and effort for the benefit of others. I know what's involved through the Brisbane Motorcycle Concours.

    Cheers

I've been slaving for weeks to get three cars ready to go tomorrow. A few weeks back, I decided the SM was in too many pieces and I didn't want to rush the jobs. So I tried for a few quick hits on the other cars.

Two LHM leak repairs to the BX 16V,
Major cooling system maintenance, replacement starter motor and heaps of electrical gremlins on the CX Wagon,
A quick wash and cleanup on the Xantia Wagon.

I hope they all get there and back home tomorrow.

    See you there.

    Cheers, Ken W

Well it was a superb day yesterday. All the french cars performed really well getting there and home. There was an RACQ breakdown van there for a while but that was to get a Hyundai van going for one of the Stall Owners - haha.

I didn't take many pics as I was too busy talking and having a good time.

    Cheers Ken

I've got a bunch of photos I've put up on my own site, but don't have the number plates obscured, so I won't post the pictures themselves here.

Here's some Citroen images from the day.

Thanks for the pics. There was an original traction that hardly got a look in. Might be the French one.

    Again, great pics, John

There was a dark maroon one, had a bit of the rat-Rod look about it, with sanded patches on the bodywork showing the strata all the way through multiple layers of paint. Don't think I managed to line up a good pic of it though :/

There was a CX Sedan and a CX Wagon there but they must not have appealed to the Photographers Lens.

    Hi Ken,
I don't think the owner of the CX saloon was there for the full day - so may have been missed pictures wise.
It looked like a really nice one from a distance.
I'd meant to get over there for a look but that's the way the day always seems to go - in a flash...
    Cheers,
    Mark...

The 70's were out of fashion on the day amongst Citroens - just the two CX's and no SM's or GS's.

I had good intentions of getting there with my CX this year but time got away. Next year...

Definitely going to the Cit In at Dalby next Easter however.

That's the one. If it is, it is the Big 6 of Allen's. He made up other wheels but he does have the originals. It is a great car to see in its original albeit scruffy state. Interesting that the slick cars were featured in the pics and this was left in the background. I think this reflects the attitude of this new young generation. I'm not criticizing, it just seems to be how it is. D's look great all spruced up but for me, an original traction, specially a Big 6 looks the bee's knees.

There is a "French Day" around October in Balwyn, Melbourne. I wonder if this is the day usually held at Williamstown ?

    Again, great pics, John.

Yeah, my Citroen fandom is petty much the DS and 2CV (and the H van has its charms), so that was most of that gallery, mainly because they're so far out of left field compared to the rest of what the automotive world looked like at their time(or has ever looked like). I do have a few pics of the cleaner versions, just didn't manage to get around to the maroon one, sadly (cause I'm a fan of ratrods in general).

    cheers
