    Default PSA automatics

The are two 6 speed automatics in current Citroens, it seems.
Aisin is a reliable one I take it, but what is the other one like?.
Where did it come from and how reliable is it as used in the Cactus diesel?.

I believe the other option the automated manual gearbox (EGS) that is found in the C4 Cactus.

I would wait for the 1.2 Petrol with the Aisin 6 Speed Automatic. It has been released with the Peugeot 2008 and I believe will be available soon in the Cactus.

The (real) automatic gearbox is the "EAT6"

The piloted manual gearbox (horrible to drive.... ) is the "ETG6" or "ETG5"

1.2 puretech 110ch EAT6 is the good choice.

The Cactus box is an automated manual 6 speed box, ie. no clutch pedal.

It's actually not that bad to drive and if you don't drive it like a brain-dead aussie auto driver, then you will be fine with it. It's an in-house design - nothing to do with Aisin.

I do agree that it would better to have the 1.2 petrol turbo with 6sp auto, but it's not currently available. CitroŽn Australia has put out nothing (not a single press release since Oct 2016), but GoAuto thinks it will arrive in the "second half of 2017".

I've given up trying to find out stuff from Citroen au, such as ground clearance etc.
Lot of information on the lounge room furniture but bugger all else.
I was interested in a C4 Picasso but even dealers (via Sydney HQ) don't bother responding.
Seems they're not all that interested.
Then there's the dreaded thought of resale value..............

Sime Darby (=Citroen) are near useless. The main dealer in Sydney is Bill Bunting at Continental Cars CitroŽn Centre. Give him a bell on Monday. Even if he doesn't know some dimension, there's likely to be one in stock for someone to measure.

Has anyone had work done to replace actuators or clutch on a Sensodrive gearbox...I have a 2007 Pluriel lightly driven and I'm just wondering what I would be up for in costs if it were necessary to have work done. I'm using Cars Of France here in Melbourne as my service agents. The car has done 54,250km.

The actual vehicles deserve so much better treatment from the importers........you have to wonder why they bother.

A half decent dealer.........that says something about the state of Citroen au.

Write a letter to PSA in France, telling them about how the brand is treated in Australia.
Perhaps they may end the Sime Darby distribution, and do it themselves?

I've emailed Citroen France with a broad description of our dissatisfaction
I wonder if they will respond.

I'd suggest your email if printed, will be cut into strips and if you are lucky placed in the executive rest room.

Australia is likely considered that "place" where kangaroos frequent the main streets with the "natives" chasing them.

And the Sales numbers are infinitesimal compared to Europe.

I look forward to hearing the outcome 'tho.

What support would you like the customers keep dealers going I value each one when was the last time you used a cit dealer Sime Darby have been great for Citroen as well ask any Newcastle Citroen fan it's the big guys like ahg etc that don't want us mainly because people are buying Vw group cars and Hyundai and kia's in droves it's bloody hard to keep a pug and cit dealer going especially when the core support base won't buy the new stuff no fingers pointed

Hi, first post, so welcome. However, this query is unrelated to this thread, so best to ask it again in a new thread. Or Shane, the moderator, if he sees this could move it to a new thread.

How long is a piece of string?.
    Where do you start?.
Is the lack of serious intent down to PSA France or PSA UK (seemingly the primary point of contact) or Sime Darby?.
To become a serious player you have to invest seriously for the long term and stick with it, and that includes ever aspect incl appropriate product with significant advertising and a much larger PSA dealer network rather than the non French multi franchises with PSA as an afterthought tacked on out the back.
I can't see it happening in my lifetime sadly so the situation of buying a new Citroen will always be an act of wonton financial waste and that buyer as a crackpot.
    More than sad.

Then there is the aspect of BEVs and string-of-pearls autonomous 'pods' marking the end of the ICE and driving as we now know it.

mainly because people are buying Vw group cars and Hyundai and kia's in droves

Could be good time for SD to look at their pricing model ?

IMO Citroens are way over priced in Australia.

And brand loyalty only goes so far when the competition offers a vehicle at 2/3 the price.

I live near the Victorian High County and like a little careful 'exploration' .....not the AWD/4WD stuff, but farm access tracks or the crushed rock roads, such as the Benambra - Nariel Valley road.
Our 2008 with 165mm ground clearance is ideal but our 308 with a mere 110mm is seriously inadequate
    So
Why is it so difficult to find out the ground clearance of a Citroen?.
Why can't you buy one with a diesel and Aisin auto?.
Why would you choose to lose $20K crossing the dealership's curb?
Why are there no private sales at reasonable prices?.
    Answer: they don't sell.
    Who's fault is that?.
