    Default Engine mounts on a Duck

    Is it easy to change those 2 front ones ?

    The front mounts are fairly simple. Loosen the top and bottom bolts. Gently jack up the front of the motor so that the mount bolts are clear of the chassis cross member and fit the replacements. I am surprised these mounts need replacing. They are well strong enough for a 2CV and seem to last for years.

    Even the rear gearbox mount is easily changed in situ.

    Don't buy new ones from the French or Germans. They are crap and only spot welded. Pay a bit more and get them from the UK they seem a better product. The others separate with a bit of stress. Raid Arnhem proved that

    Good stuff the left is seperating because of torque, sounds fairly easy

    Thanks is it a Simca , with the rear window that goes the other way ?

    looks good ,

    I always wanted a skoda , one of those rear engine 70's ones

    Where I got the duck fixed the young man, had one

    , and always had the engine out on the ground

    Doubt the average 2CV driver ever goes on a raid, cause if they did, it wouldn't only be the mounts that fell apart?

    I've never seen any of the European replacement fall apart, they last well in everyday driving,. and certainly a lot long than those on modern Citroens!

    One hot day doesn't constitute summer.........Think about it?
