    Default DS steering rack piping

Unlike late DS, early DS have a metal pressure inlet and a metal exhaust. I had to make a new fitting and possibly got the lines switched. Can anyone confirm that, for a LHD car, when the rack is installed in the car, the forward most aperture through the sealing plate is pressure in and the rear most aperture is the exhaust? I think that is correct, but that's not the way I made the fitting as shown in the photograph.

When I pressurized the system, the steering went to full right lock and stayed there. Pretty sure I have pressure applied to the exhaust.

Pretty much confirmed my suspicion. Not immediately obvious from the "before" photo where the high pressure pipe was, but clearly the rear pipe went to the return....

Yes, rear outlet is the exhaust - irregardless of LHD or RHD.
