    Default Engine Head Temp Switch

I'm working through the cooling system on a D Special and would like to add a level of protection from overheating above and beyond the coolant temp switch controlled light.

It is common I believe to put a switch in the radiator that identifies a lack of water. If this switch was NO at ambient it could be wired in parallel with the existing coolant temp switch.

This will work but the real thing that needs to be measured & switched is temp not lack of water.

I would like to add a sensor on the engine head or block that reads temp directly from the metal, does an OEM switching part exist for this? - attached is what I could I guess I wanted something more "expensive"

    Thanks
