DS 19 positive or negative earth ?

    Default DS 19 positive or negative earth ?

    Not sure if my Slough built DS19 is pos or neg earth ..... finally going to fire her up tomorrow - thanks

    Um ... short the starter and see if it spins backwards or forwards (with jumper leads of course ... without hooking up the battery terminals. You don't want to fry any gauges

    Likely to be positive earth. My 57 is and the 58 Slough ID is the same.

    Likely to be positive earth. Mine is 1959 and positive earth. You can tell by the size of the battery terminals. Negative is smaller than positive so check whether the smaller or larger one goes to earth.

    I have never bothered to change it. The only time it is an issue is powering a radio that gounds to the chassis, and I don't use radios in Dees.
