Just checking the usual running temperature of coolant and engine oil for these 2.0 diesel engines. Both the coolant and oil temp gauges sit above centre on the gauge. With Lexia coolant is sitting at average 93deg. When I changed all the coolant to Nulon One I had the thermostat out and it was definitely a 83deg unit but didn't test it.

While driving as I only have 3rd and 4th gear the auto temp can get up to 100deg and then only 3rd is accessible without converter lockup until the auto oil cools down.

I'm wondering if the thermostat is a bit lazy and keeping the cooling system too warm or something else to look at.

Auto has the larger cooler unit as standard so has not been replaced.
