    Default 2CV Ute

I am now the lucky owner of this 2CV Ute. It is an exact copy of a Ute made in 1959-1960. Sixty were made to fight in Malaysia. They were chosen because they were light enough to lift on and of the ship and they were good to take into the bush, as we Raiders know. After duty they were all pushed overboard.
This guy used a 1986 2CV and had it converted, but he did not live to tell the tale.
I had some work done on it and is now ready to be registered.

Love the grab handles on back of the roof of the originals. Looks cool. You should call your a Soft-top Ute.

    Cheers, Ken

    Hi Winkbul45
Well this is another interesting bit of history that I never even suspected. Thanks for putting it on here
Have good fun with it, not too much shooting up the neighbourhood and the like

    Hi Jaahn.
I didn't know either until I saw this car advertised and did some research.
    I'll behave myself .

Don't behave too much! I hadn't realised you'd moved to Albany, one of my favourite towns - best wishes to both of you for 2017.

I think you MUST add the grab handles on the roof. Sounds like a job for the blokes in Denmark!! Seriously, that is an interesting car, and interesting history that most of us wouldn't have known.

    Cheers

    Hi John,
We moved to Goode Beach 2.5 years ago. I was thinking to put the grab handles on, that will make it more identical.
It was not until I did some research that I found how interesting it was. Part of 2CV history not many people knew about.
Bob did some good work on it and I will be happy to drive it around Albany. When I drove it around Perth and to Alb. many people asked me about it and asked if they could take a picture. I told them it would cost them $20.00
Best wishes for you and let me know if you come to Albany.

Yes, I was very lucky to see it advertised. It would have been sold in the UK but it was advertised in a Collectible Cars Site. So luckily it was not seen by the 2CV people in the UK.
