Now that is a nice C5. I wouldn't mind having one of those.

The article says "one off" so somehow I doubt it.

    Nah,

a foulcan and dunnydore would kick it's arse in a straight line. What gives ?? Why is it slower than a 24valve XM and CX GTi (not to mention the series I BX 16valve)

Remember a bog standard base spec foulcan out here (right of the factory floor, no modifications) will do 0-100km/h in 7.8seconds.

Who cares how quick it is, it's how it drives that matters Your never going to beat the locals down a straight, but through corners and rough roads you wanna be able to leave 'em for dead

Who cares if a falcon or commodore would kick its arse. If you really want to, you can get a Datto 120Y to run faster, but which would you rather want to drive (or be seen in)?

Mmmmm.....where do I pay my deposit?. I have looked at C5's for some time but think its looks a bit too 'Grandad'! The Carlsson is certainly something special. The Saab 9000 Carlsson was a great car as well so its certainly in great company. Admittedly being a bit of a Saabophile makes me think this combination is very wantable! Took Citroen a few years to come out with Xantia Activa/CT Turbo so hopefully someday soon we will see something close to this on the road. 250kW & 6spd manual, thats not asking much is it? Heres hoping..(& dreaming!)

PS Check this website out for some more nicely modified C5's (warning it is in Russian!) http://auto.grc.ru/musketier/musketier.htm

by "tastefully enhanced" i take it u mean "with twin round headlight conversions"?!?!

its amazing how doing that to such a huge range of cars can make them all look so similar.

Why did people think huge wheels (so it'll ride like sh!t and aquaplane really easily), twin exhausts (c'mon really, on a 1.1litre auto --usually ) and plastic sh!t screwed to it that'll be crunched on the first speed hump will make a car look better. Well it certainly brightens up my day as I laugh at them driving by. They look just like the Hyundi excels I see around

C'mon...not all are thaaat bad! There is nothing wrong with 'slightly' bigger wheels, a tasteful spoiler etc...admittedly some go too far but for the most part most of these modifications have added a touch of aggressiveness to the C5, XM etc which I find quite appealing. Needless to say the twin headlight Xantia is shocking, bloody yank thing I think, didnt work on the D, GS etc either!!!

I think the Carlsson has been around a little while...it was intially a one-off, then i think it was sold just in Germany and then i think i heard this was being extended to France?

Mixed feelings about it really - i love all big Cits unconditionally, but in more reflective moments i find the C5 a bit 'nana'ish (apologies to owners - i've only been a passive driver in one, so what would i know? ) but the carlsson seems a very, erm, germanic answer to the question. i'd prefer less uberwagen and more spaceship. although i wouldn't knock it back...

now mix the upcoming facelift with the diesel v6...that's a bit closer.

i wish they'd bring it out now so i can start counting the 10 years before i buy it...
