    Default Mt Panorama

My brother and I freezing our tits off on Mt Panorama the other day. It was a leisurely lap!

Is this the first time a DS has got to the top of Mt Panorama?

Its been done before,AIR Brian Foley drove a D at Bathurst,When I drove there Frank Matich was in a R8 or 10? Renault -- .both cars where very good at the end of the straight,
Possibly Bill Burns may have driven a D one year -- can't remember he tended to always drive something different he was a really nice bloke too!

It's the right time of the year to be driving a DS on country runs.

My Safari has struggled up there and even taking an SM up it had to work. It's quite a climb.

They all seem to be breaking down at the same spot, year after year

Love pics on the quality of the track in 1962

    Hi
I do not remember the track looking that bad but the first time I went was ?? '65 or so. I do remember the Ds running and the understeer through Forest Elbow was astonishing, particular to a person who was brought up on rear engined Renaults

Here's some early Bathurst crashes and a DS taking the wide line at Forest Elbow.

The first crash is an R8 being thrown down Conrod straight. The second car I can't recognize but could be another R8 and the 3rd car is the Citroen.
