Default Cit C4 hatch will not open.

Any ideas on how to open the hatch of my C4.
All other doors unlock but the hatch will not.
Is there a mechanism linked to a solenoid that may be loose?

Cast a wide net using google. Try the english french car forum or the C4 owners website for clues.

You are probably lucky it is a hatch. Put the back seats down and get in close to the boot lock area with a torch. See if you can take some trim bits out and you may be able to access the bolts that hold the hook piece on. The at least you can raise the hatch to get into that and find out what is going on the with the lock.

Maybe you can take the inside panel off the hatch from the inside and get to the lock that way.

The Haynes Series 1 C4 Manual may have some helpful pictures in it.

    Cheers, Ken

I think you will find that it is only slightly catching. Try pressing down on the lid and then quickly lifting. If this works, then adjust the positioning of the U (upside down view) static catch with a 13 mm (from memory) socket.

The car is at the repairers, it is their problem.
All doors unlock but not the hatch.
It was working but then stopped.
I just want my car back.

It is fairly easy to open the lock from inside as described in the manual.
I think you will find the wiring loom ( top left hand side - with in a rubber concertina cover has a broken wire. Usually this location is where the wires all flex repeatedly as you open and close it. Hawk
