    Default SM Muffler Mtg

While replacing the starter motor I noticed that one of the Muffler mounting brackets has broken. It is attached to a large rubber block in the subframe. It is not obvious how any of these is removed, advise required please.

Are you referring to the big rubber bump stop that goes on one side of the front transverse muffler?

Check in the relevant exploded diagram in the parts pdf to see how it comes apart.

    Cheers, Ken

The main muffler is held on both sides by a molded rubber wedge-shaped thing (about 4 x 4 x 4 inches) that has the steel mounting flange cast in. You have to remove the muffler then pry/pull the rubber wedge out of the socket in the frame.
