    Default Good Looking VTS on carsales

    2001 Citroen Xsara VTS Manual

    I hate to draw attention to it because I want it. But it wont be.

    Seems a good price from what reads a sensible owner.

    It does have a timing belt... Similar chassis to the 306, quite nice on the road, panels a bit tinny (easy to pick up tiny dings).

    To hijack another thread re the timing belt.

    K4M in a Clio = belt
    306 = belt
    That thing = belt
    Mazda SP20, (FS engine, mi16 reincarnate) = belt
    Daihatsu Sirion / Charade (EJ) = belt
    Toyota Echo / Prius (1z / 2z) = CHAIN

    Prius Wins.

    I think I'll be more religious with my maintenance this time around with what ever I get.

    But those things look fun. If they handle like a 306, but still look like you are going to by organic grain fed veal, then great.

    More religious with your maintenance? Are you going to wipe the dipstick on a tallis?

    A dirty little secret: Also on the Xsara/306 platform is the Berlingo. You could put the VTS driveline and subframe into a van, lower the rear end and off you go surprising everyone.

    I think that one looks like a vtr not a vts. Vtr is a 1.6 not a 2 liter. Vtr is still good fun but be careful of the gearbox make sure if it's starts to make noice get it fixed!
