    Default Cit-In 2016

    Hi guys.

I'm not able to attend the Cit-In this year as a participant, but will be able to do a day trip to Echuca on Saturday. (Bringing a 95 year old for a jaunt).

I was wondering what time the Show and Shine kicks off and whereabouts it will be (The Port is a largish area) as I should have the opportunity to come and ogle a few classics.

I'll be there in Mephistopheles, the C5 Wagon. (And the bloke wandering around with an elderly Mother on a walker in tow, unless she elects to prop up a bar while I ogle. )

Maybe see a few of you there?

    CHeers, Pottsy

The Port of Echuca "Discovery Centre" have other car events listed on their calendar. I assume there must be an area there that caters to gatherings of cars enthusiasts. Either way, shouldn't be hard to miss. The CitIn brochure says "Saturday morning", that would have to be sometime between 9am and 12noon.

It's easy Ray. Just look for open bonnets and the bums up club. There may also be flurescent (sp?) dribbles on the road too.

Now's someone's chance to nab the owner of the dark blue C5 that's DOA at the end of Haverfield St near the main road.

Just back from the day trip. Up to Echuca the direct way, then home via Murchison and Ruffy. Mephistopheles taking all road surfaces in his stride.

An excellent display of Citroens young and old, chaps and chappettes. The shiny ones way outnumbered the ones like mine!

And great to see such a variety of models from the TA's through to an X7 C5 and a couple of others sprinkled around.

Kudos to CCOCA and anyone else involved in organising it. There were a lot of tourist kids with wonder in their eyes as they ogled the cars. A whole new generation of LHM heads coming along I reckon!

Well done all. ( Oh, and Mum thoroughly enjoyed it. Especially the black TA Big 6. It was spectacular!)

    Cheers, Pottsy

So - nine prior posts in just one thread, is this "it" for the nadir of Antipodean CitroŽnistes' aspirations, this year?

Where are the pictures, the gory reports of DNFs, the scuttlebutt, the awards?

Hang on Addo, the true believers are still whooping it up in Echuca.

This thread was just to ask where I should look to meet them yesterday.

Be patient, I'm sure they'll regale us with myriad pictures and tales of derring-do just as soon as the dust and hangovers clear.

My inside informant tells me they are creating those hang-overs as we "speak...err post" as they celebrate at the Moama Bowling Club..the town is literally dripping with LHM!!! on the streets..

Tomorrow (Monday morning) may be a different thing all together..

I suppose there's no hiding for anyone who's taken up an offer of cuddles from a local; the trail of LHM will lead others to the crime scene...

Being a local, I headed down on Saturday morning but couldn't find a park within a reasonable distance. (Limited walking ability)

I then headed to Safeway and no parks were to be had there either, even in the large parking area alongside the railway line so with much cursing I went home.

Ropes - how are the fuel prices this weekend, would hope they would be down on Melbourne prices with so many tourist things on, Diesel, 98 Premium and LPG?

Hey Ken, you could feed your obsession with fuel prices in remote places without having to recruit spies by using the woolworths fuel app.

We don't have discount cycles here, much to everyone's annoyance. I filled up with Vortex 95 on thursday at $1.29. Diesel is about $1.13 and gas 69.7c.
The prices don't matter much to me as a tank lasts about 3 months - I don't go far.

Default On the way home from Cit-in - here are some pics and news

I seem to have great internet access at the Astrodish Motel in Parkes so here are a few pics.

The Big 6 H won the peoples vote and an AMI 8 came second followed by a 2CV Charleston third.

Also a pic of Sparkeys GS Wagon and some C4 and C5.

Why has AF turned my phone pics upside down???

A great time was had by all. Congrats to the organisers.

    Cheers, Ken W

I suppose that's what you get when a left hander takes photos on a phone.

Thanks Guys - let me know if you want some more - I have a few line-up shots.
